Stephanie Smith, Managing Optician, joined Engle Eyewear in 2018 and quickly established herself as a dedicated Board Certified Optician, earning both her ABO and NCLE certifications in under two years. Her unique qualifications enable her to address a wide range of eyeglass and contact lens needs, making her an invaluable asset to the Engle Eyewear team.

Stephanie takes immense pride in her exceptional organizational skills and unwavering commitment to continuous learning. Her daily responsibilities encompass a variety of patient-focused tasks, including helping clients select the perfect frames, taking precise measurements, and conducting Optometric pre-screening. Furthermore, she is actively involved in various ‘behind the scenes’ activities at Engle Eyewear, demonstrating her commitment to providing the best possible care for patients.

Before embarking on her journey in the optical field, Stephanie pursued a degree in Mathematics at East Stroudsburg University. She then transitioned into the realm of retail management, where she devoted years to climbing the corporate ladder. Fortunately, her true calling as an Optician emerged, and she embraced it with open arms. This career change brought immeasurable joy and fulfillment, evident in the genuine smile that graces Stephanie’s face each day as she embraces her role as a member of the Engle Eyewear family.

Beyond her professional life, Stephanie finds joy in spending time with her family, friends, and her faithful K-9 Shi-Thead, as well as attending concerts. Her passion for rescuing animals is a testament to her compassionate nature, which she shares with her children and fur children, enriching the lives of both humans and animals alike.

Renee Engle, alongside her husband Thomas, established Engle Eyewear in 2005, where she serves as an Optician and the driving force behind the success of the practice.

Renee’s introduction to the optical industry occurred at the tender age of 15, thanks to her late Uncle Leonard Pintha. Throughout her career in the field, she has had the privilege of working with a distinguished roster of Ophthalmologists, Optometrists, and Opticians, many of whom are her own family members.

In recognition of her outstanding contributions, Renee was honored with the Top 20 under 40 Business Owners award in 2007. Her partnership with Thomas, her husband, is a testament to their exceptional teamwork. Renee enthusiastically shares, ‘Having a husband in the same field has been a blessing. Tom and I work seamlessly together, like a finely tuned machine, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!’

Renee’s approach to her work is deeply personalized. Once she comprehends a patient’s lifestyle and professional requirements, she embarks on crafting a unique and tailored look that perfectly suits their individual needs. Her unwavering commitment is to ensure that every patient departs the boutique not only looking fantastic but also fully satisfied, knowing that their needs and concerns have been exceeded.

In her pursuit of excellence, Renee remains dedicated to staying abreast of the latest technological advancements and design trends in the field. She accomplishes this through regular attendance at trade shows, enrollment in continuing education programs, and a tireless commitment to remaining at the forefront of her industry.

The Engle family extends to their beloved canine companions, Maggie and Paris, both of whom are Maltese dogs and accompany Renee and Tom to work each day. You’re bound to be charmed by these furry greeters as they joyfully welcome you at the door.
